Anyone using the Dasaita head unit?

So I am quite disappointed with the factory head unit, even after replacing the dash and door speakers with Tacotunes upgrades. And I want carplay. The T9 seems to have way too many issues and the Dasaita appears to be solid with frequent updates pushed out to fix issues. Any forum users running this or know someone who is? Cheers.

I went with the Alpine Halo9 and am happy with it. Was having issue with my 2017 head unit. I’m also able to control my accessories (LED, Winch, Compressor, etc) through it.

I don’t like the screen size of Dasaita. I got the t9 and it’s awesome. It’s more of a tinker stereo. But it does everything I want it to do, CarPlay, Netflix and YouTube

Woah. How do you do that? I was looking at one of the larger Kenwood Excelon headunits because they have the volume knob but this is cooler

I just bought it and am in the process of swapping over. My backup camera isn't working, so I have a request in for tech support. The trim is flat and a little bit cheap looking but the screen looks nice. I will let you know how it goes. I have installed.probably 15-20 stereos in my life and if everything would have worked this would have been one of the easier ones to do even though the directions are vague. I will let you know how it goes. Screen looks good and the audio sounds good too.

The functionality of the Halo is amazing, but I dislike the blocking of the front vents as well as seemingly having an iPad sticking out of my dash.

Thanks, definitely like any further feedback you have. From what I read on Amazon you have to contact them and specifically ask for the backup camera cable.

So all I needed to do was connect the RCA video cable from the main harness to a secondary harness toake the backup camera work. Actually pretty simple if they would have described the install adequately.

First impression is favorable but most of the features are pretty slick. Many of them I won't use since my primary intent is to use Apple Carplay and android auto. the integration of those work very well. I also like that the heater info, battery voltage And door status is pretty slick.

One thing I found annoying was if you want to keep your factory GPS antenna you will need to rig up a couple of adapters.If you have any specific questions let me know and I could possibly do a video or whatever.

I just installed the dasaita on my 2016 4runner. easy install and Works great overall. only issue I had was sometime's it didn't connect to apple carplay right away and had to reset it.

did you go with the flat black or the silver trim. My silver trim came a little scratched on the top near the ac vents.

So I did, had it for about a week and sent it back. Issues:

Wireless CarPlay would not connect. The Zlink software was buggy and I could not find a fix to the multiple errors in the unit. Dasiata support did try to help, but none of the fixes worked. And the reverse camera looked horrible on the unit, almost unusable.

I don't believe the system/unit is horrible by any means, and there are many 4runner owners using this (apparently) with success. I purchased an Alpine Halo9 and am quite happy with it even though it was more than I figured i'd spend. Be happy to answer any questions you have.

I’ve had mine for about a year now. Installed it on July 3rd 2020. No issues so far, other than a couple of apps have issues displaying on the widescreen. Have not checked into an update. CarPlay is great on it, but have gotten pretty good on the Android side so I’m starting to use it more this way. Have an IPTV service working well on it. Tried YouTube TV and worked without any trouble. Just got rid of it due to high price. I bought the Sprint Drive with an unlimited plan that I use for wifi. It automatically connects when I start up the Runner. When running android, I have my iPhone hooked up via Bluetooth for hands free use. Would I buy it again. Hell yeah!

Forgot which cable is for GPS antenna. No problems with the head unit.
I also wired a direct mirror plug and play for my iPhone if you want to know the cables.

Anyone having issues playing music through the OEM USB port? I have a iPod plugged in and when I select music it can’t read it.

I saw the newest software update has an iPod app.

AVIN is the app if you are using the supplied USB cables.
