anyone using the DW BBS wheels on their 5th?

Can't say I've seen a 5th gen with these on. The link says they weigh 35 lbs a piece. What does the stock wheel weigh?

SR5 Wheel = 29 Lbs.

anytime you are going to get into truck wheels 9" wide they are going to be heavy... at least without going with a true forged wheel...

Any suggestions? I've got a Icon kit on its way, I've already decided on 295's for tires. I haven't been able to make a decision on wheel. For now I'm just going to mount on a set of steelies I have lying around.

A light weight, off-road, forged wheel sounds great. I just don't know if such an animal exists.

There are for sure some... I'd have to check - Volk used to make a 16" TE37 that was WICKED light and pretty strong, and in tacoma fitment, what I don't know is if a 16" wheel will fit over the brakes on the 5th gen.

the TRD wheels are fairly cheap for a "forged" wheel - no idea what they weigh though and I'm not sure they are entirely forged, they might just be forged centers or something because they are pretty cheap...

16" wouldn't clear the brake calipers.
