Just obtained a 92 with a standard transmission V6 with a cold air intake. The ? I have is what is the best RPM to run that is healthy for the engine and best on gas? Also how far should I push the RPMs before I shift without damaging the motor?

Thanks, still......can you, or will someone please answer my ?? It seems like the engine is revving too high at 3 and a half grand and I don't want to blow it up.

Well for best gas milage, keep the Rs LOW. Shift low, slightly bogging the engine will give you much better milage than revving it. Shift at 2k or even less if you are not going up hill. (Assuming 6 cyl, may need to be a little higher with 4)

You posted this in the new members (Welcome btw!) for a better responce with questions, try posting in the Classic TR4 section.

It also depends on what size tire you are running and what your axle gear ratio is.

This motor likes to be lugged, not revved. It makes peak hp (150) at 4600 Rpm but peak torque (180) is at 3400. I believe rev limiter is 6300 RPM

Make sure you have good oil in your engine/ tranny and both diffs.
