Anything special about Quad Beam Halogen Headlights?

Hey all,

This is a general question for my knowledge. Is there anything special about Quad Beam Halogen headlights over ordinary halogens??

I think it's just for headlights that have one bulb for the low beam and one for the high beam. Then when you turn on the high beams, it keeps the low beams on as well. I know they make kits for certain vehicles that keep the low beams from shutting off when the high beams are used. Maybe some manufacturers have dual low beams in each housing with one that can switch to high beam? I think that would be better.

Dual filament Halogens will shut off the low beam when the high beam is on. Probably due to increased heat.
