Anything that I can do to quiet down my Cherrybomb?

Hi, several weeks ago I had a local muffler shop install a Cherrybomb Vortex muffler. I really like the tones, but because I live in a hilly area the sound can be a little too loud.

Would you recommend another brand of performance muffler that would still have a nice rumble to it but not too loud or drony?

Or is there something that I can do to the tail pipe that could quiet it down without changing the sound characteristics?

Its meant to be obnoxiously loud. Get it replaced with something reasonable. If you have your factory muffler id throw it back on. If you dont, I am sad for you.
 
Listen guys...maybe I didn't make myself clear enough..:) I LIKE the sound of this muffler, I just want to "turn it down a little".

I may have to switch to another type of performance muffler, one that has more baffles. But going back to the stock muffler is not in the plans.

when you let off the gas, does the cherrybomb pop alot as the rpms drop? my buddy has a 94 yota pick up on 35s and his pops A LOT. but its also a stick...
 
no no no get the magnaflow 18" you will like it i promise i have a turndown and it purrrrrrrrssss!
 
i have a 18' magnaflow muffler for about 2yrs now it sounds really good not soo loud you have to yell to talk to someone next to you but just enough to sound good

Elton, do you remember the pipe diameter? is it 2.25"?

Looks like I will try either a Flowmaster or Magnaflow as it seems that there are more options or choices. Cherry bomb has a great sound but its either loud or louder and I do live in a densely populated part of the city with my company name on the truck....:nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:
 
i got the 2.25'' one i think stock is just a hair larger but the muffler shop can make it fit just fine

I thought of that, but its a matter of where to install it and what would it sound like once it is on.

On the weekend I drove a few hundred kilometers to pick up a set of the much coveted Land cruise wheels. I have to say that the Cherry bomb does sound very nice on the highway. Not loud at all just a quiet purr....:)

I think that if I changed the muffler I might go to a series 50 Flowmaster. Seems to be a choice of many.

Let us know what you end up doing because I am curious to find out how the 50 series flowmaster/18" magnaflow differ from the cherry bomb.
