Well after my disappointment in this trip failing I deciding I'd go solo. So I did.
I took the 78 through to the 79 through Julian then back on 78 until you approach a very large turnout with a map. Across the street from that you get to the trail.
Grapevine Canyon was the first trail then up Jasper to Old Culp Valley Road.
Thats half a day of trails right there. I have almost no experience off road or driving in general, but my Dad is honestly just amazing. We were in high 4 almost the whole time except for two tricky bits were it would have been really helpful to have at least one locker. I don't have a single locker, so we put it in Low 4 in second gear my Dad took the wheel over the two bad parts. With the right direction, any 4 wheel drive vehicle with OR without lockers could make it up. Sorry 2wd guys. It is honestly one of my favorite trail routes, and i've been in the passenger seat off roading alot.
So if some one can figure out a second half to this route, we could make it a day trip. You must go the directions I said above. Coming the opposite way is not fun. Date Suggestions?
You must be willing to buff the scratches out. It took me 4 hours and I was out on trails half a day.
