Anza Borrego Trip Report 2008

This past weekend was the annual TTORA Anza Borrego event in So Cal that I was one of only three vehicles that were 2WD and definitely the only one that was completely 100% stock.

I was part of the "Easy Run" group and below are some pics of my camp and our run...hope you guys enjoy.

There actually enough room on both sides that I didn't need to pull in my mirrors...

Over all it was a great weekend of semi-wheelin' but 2WD's can have some fun too....hope you guys enjoyed the pictures.

NICE! How did your traction hold up with the stock tires? I will definately be going next year... the fires really screwed up my plans this past weekend. At least my house did not burn down - my neighbors were not so lucky.

man that was a nice trip you took there. I wish we had something like that here in MN. all the photos looks great, makes me want to make the trek all the way there just to do that.

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbors homes...I'm glad you came out unscathed.

Traction was a bit of an issue, though I never got stuck, it was a challenge. I aired down to 15psi and by doing so increased traction and also driving comfort. Traction really became a real issue when we traversed Fish Creek because of the deep loose sand...there were more than once occasion when my VSC just kept beeping - still, never once got stuck

Next upgrade on the list aside from buying a real 4X4 would be some good AT tires.

Yeah but don't you have great Fall Colors in MN?

It would be a definite experience and all in all I was very happy with the performance of my 2WD considering I was keeping up with other 4X4's

yes the colors here in the fall is quite nice, especially by along the northshore up by Lake Superior. We have really few places where we can go offroading, or go on a nice adventure trek.

It was really great seeing a stock 2wd v6 4Runner, that can make and off road trip without BIG wheels and BIG tires and being lifted 6 feet off the ground.

Looks like you had a blast! Great shots...you should share those with your dealer...show them what a 2WD 4runner can do

@magnus, where is this Pumpkin Patch Trail at? Only having 2wd sort of limits my offroading but this looks like a good day trip with the kids and lady.

I haven't been but the coordinates for the Pumpkin Patch is at N33 13 22.6 W116 04 03.7
