Interesting to see that 4Runner sales were up 14.7% for the month of April while some other Mid-Sized SUVs had a down month.

Interesting to see that 4Runner sales were up 14.7% for the month of April while some other Mid-Sized SUVs had a down month.

What you get for the money makes the 4Runner a bargain compared to many others in its class IMO, so no surprise that sales are holding up.

I was surprised to see Landcruiser sales were so low, however... 255 in April compared to 9500 4Runners.

I'll agree with that.....also it seems as though the dealers are negotiating a bit more on vehicles right now as compared to what they used to do.

Interesting to note the sales of Lexus suv's (and all Lexus vehicles actually) are down significantly.

The Lexus SUVs sales may be down but not nearly as bad as the VW Touareg's 43.7% drop in April.

Didn't Toyota offer a $2K+ rebate on the 4Runner? With less profit Toyota might start using cheaper parts in the future. And we all know what cheap parts get you; domestic products.

I like to see the 4Runner having sustainable sales numbers, but not at the expense of rock bottom pricing, like Chevy, Ford and Dodge, it lessens the resale value.

Keep the 4Runner a niche vehicle with strong sales and pricing and a limited production number for quality and resale values for the consumer. Let's not make a Camry out of our 4Runner.

Moreover, let's keep the 4Runner "made in Japan", unlike the Camry.

This doesn't surprise me at all. Look at how many new members post with "new '06 owner" threads, like one every week or so. Also, Toyota not increasing the rebate from $1500 (even with the increasing cost of gas) since January is a good sign of sales. The 4Runner is a great vehicle, there are a lot of amenities we get on our trucks. I hope sales stay strong and Toyota doesn't drop it from their line up after this generation or soften it up and make it a more street vehicle and reduce its off-road capabilities. 4Runner is established like Camry, Corolla and the legendary Land Cruiser.

i'm not surprised that the 4runners sales are doing well in general. i like the little detail changes in the '06 model. the trapazoid bumper grill, the led back lights, the rounded fender flairs, etc...looks good. i'm sure the pathfinder looking like a box, and the pilot looking really plain, helps too.
