April 9th meet planning

Bobby et. al,

I should be in for the 23rd. Keep me updated on all the info. Thanks for arranging things,

Karl

Unfortunately I will not be able to attend because at the end of April I will be in California for a week...I will be watching for other meets in the future though

That's it? 4 confirms???

C'mon guys.

I did a prelimenary run up Palisades and there's 2 rest areas between exit 1 and 2. We'll be meeting at the first one which is about a mile after exit 1.

We can hang out there for a bit and then head up to 7 lakes or Bear Mtn.

Once again:

Meet is April 23rd, 10am
We'll probably head out around 11am.

Im confirming my attendance and looking forward to meeting all of you. I have extra Motorola's for those that need them!!!!! Regards and unti then!!!!:awais:

I will try to be there, but my schedule changes like Spring weather. I have been traveling for work a lot...too much lately.

I won't be able to attend. I tore ligaments in my ankle so I don't think I can make it that far. Have a good time and make sure to post pictures!

Mark! How many ligaments did you tear? Your ankle better be falling off for you to not make it :) Maybe you'll feel better, otherwise hope to see you at the next one.

I don't know how many, but my entire foot is all black and blue and I can barely walk on it. This is like the sixth time I injured that ankle. I will definitely attend the next meet if my ankle is still intact!

Hey Mark...if you want, I can pick you up so you don' t have to drive. Marlboro isn't too far from me. It's up to you...just let me know.

Thanks for the offer Ed. I really appreciate it. I really don't think I can take that long of a ride because the pain has not eased up since it happened.

Mark-
Hope you feel better. Have you had it looked at? You might need to see an orthopod . . . .

Thanks! I went to one the day after it happened. She first told me that she thought it was broken from the look of it(it was the size of a golf ball) but the X-ray proved negative. She then wrapped it and put me in an aircast and told me to stay off of my foot as much as I can.

Hey Bobby,

Can you clarify the meeting point for a few of us?
Are these rest areas on the NJ or NY side of the Pallisades parkway?
Are they in between the North and Southbound lanes, so that those of us coming from the north (CT), can meet you in the middle, or do we need to travel further south, turn around, get on northbound, and then get off at the rest area.
You say we will meet at the rest area 1 mile after exit 1- traveling in which direction?
Thanks,

Karl

Come on, Mark! Can't you find some cute college blonde girl to drive your 4Runner up this way to the meet? On second thought, I can see how that could be a bad idea :) Although the thought of you bringing a BUNCH of cute college girls sounds pretty good :bouncy:
Hey, in addition to being a firefighter, I'm also an Orthopedic PA (physician assistant). You get a free exam if you make it to the meet!

Mark86 - Hope you get better. You have 2 weeks to heal so hopefully, it'll be better by then.

ksneubec - If you're coming from CT, you can take I95 south, cross the GWB and stay all the way to the right. There's an exit for Palisades Parkway. Take that north (only direction) and the rest area is right after exit 1. If you're coming southbound, you have to go to exit 1, make a left at the end of the exit and get back on PP north. The rest area is only accessible from the northbound side.

I finally got my CB installed and it works really well. You guys need to get one. I'll still bring some talk abouts.

ksneubec, cute college girls will definitely not be a problem. You can fit many of them in the 4Runner, but the driver seat does not count. I think I would need a cardiologist if I let one drive my truck! Lets just say I am not a very good passenger in my 4Runner! Also, thanks for the offer on the free exam.

Bobby and Ed, thanks a lot. I actually thought the meet was this week from the title of the thread (should have read the few posts before this!). Maybe there is a chance then!

NYFinest and Ed - Let's use this thread to talk about the meet and installs.

Hardwiring the Roady2 power isn't a problem. I can do that for you too.

So I broke down and got 265/70-17 Revos so you guys can see the fit at the meet. I also have the cb installed. It's pretty cool so you guys better get one :p.
