April 9th meet planning

Hiya Bobby...I bet the Revo's look outstanding!!!! Good luck with them-Nice add. OK that solves the hardwire issue..Now how does the Roady2 XM interface with the PIE adapter and the Scion HU we're going to put in. ?????????????????????? Somewhere I feel RCA jacks have to be used somewhere. The roady2 didnt come with any and the PIE only has female RCA Inputs. I'm frazzled. i was hoping someone has done the exact same install.

Yes...There are 3 on the side of the Roady2
1. Power Cig Lighter
2. Antenna
3. Cassette Use Input
None of which are RCA inputs.???????????????

Ok, I did a little research and what you need is a 3.5mm Stereo mini jack to 2 male RCA jack cable. You should be able to pick this up at any Radio Shack or Best Buy or Circuit City. It shouldn't be more than a few bucks.

The 3.5mm stereo jack goes into the jack for your cassette output and the 2 male RCA connectors fit into the 2 female RCA connectors from the PIE adapter.

Bobby. I believe you and your research is 100% correct. I looked at the PIE Adapter and the Roady Unit and that would appear to be the solution. I will pickup that 3.5 stereo/RCA cable from Radio Shack. That with direct wiring the unit should make it all complete.....I owe ya!!!!!Want to thank you for all your help.

Just want to earn my t-shirt and hat :D.

Back to the meet. Are any of you bringing your SO (gf or wife)? I asked my gf to come but she thinks it'll be a bunch of car nerds and she'll be bored. The drive should be nice and the destination will be worth it.

Next week Sat. 10am. :D

Thanks a lot, guys. Now I feel completely left out. For starters, I have NOTHING to install. Although I've got a week to come up with something . . . . .
Second, all I was going to do for NYFINEST was help with the headlight install. Yeesh. Sounds like I am losing my free lunch to Bobby :)
Well, now that I think about it, there are a few ideas you can help me with- how to mount my scanner, and whether I can fit an LED light in the hood scoop. I guess all of the help I need will be only theoretical :(
GF is in Australia, so I will be flying solo. You guys would love her, but she is definitely jealous of the money spent on the truck vs. the money spent on her, so perhaps this is for the best.
See you all next Sat.
PS- no CB for me, just my 5 mile range Family band, Channel 5-0.

Karl.......You'll find something to install. Lunch is still on me......I'm going "solo" as well. I was told that a busload of hot college babes are going (guess it was just a rumor)......No CB here either i will however be on FRS channel 5-0.........See ya there. I have to admit Bobby has been a godsend. I imagine thats why hes senior and im a 3rd class newbie!!!!! Experience accounts for alot i've learned!!!

Good point, Scott-

Mark86- Your ankle should be healed by now, and we are expecting a busload of hot college chicks :)

I'd love to go but my son have little leage baseball on weekend

post some pic from the meet point

I've only had my 4runner about 6 months now. I joined T4R.org a month before I bought to get some more info and help. I just dove in and started modding it since I got it but it was tough in the winter since I'm a wuss when it comes to cold weather and I just kept buying things w/o installing them. Now that it's warmer, I've been very busy installing all the stuff I couldn't before. It's like a hobby for me and relieves stress when I work on cars. Now that I'm almost done with mods on my truck, I have to find other people's trucks to work on :D.

I'll be flying solo too. I just installed my auto-dim mirror yesterday...what a piece of cake. If anyone is thinking of getting it, it's totally worth it and the install is easy. Oh...and Bobby can install Hella horns with his eyes closed...I've witnessed it. LOL.

Ed/Bobby.......Have all the parts for the install. Bought the 3.5 stereo plug to 2 male RCA plugs and that does the trick. So we should be all set. Have your T-Shirts and hats as well. Looking forward to my newly installed
Lund Avenger
Scion HU with Roady2 XM
Sylvania Lights!!!!!!!!!!
See you guys there!!!!!!!!Dont forget the tools!!!!:awais:

Bobby- I get to install the Silvania's. I called that MONTHS ago :)

PS- I felt WAY left out, so I've been getting stuff to install (play with me too!)

I orded that fog light switch we've both been interested in, should get it by Friday. Should be an easy install, as the lights are already mounted and wired, just need to change the switch.

I can show you guys the issues I've been having with the brake/parking light LEDs in the rear bumper. I will try to get little resistors too, b/c I think that may solve the problem.

I think I will be ordering a knight rider light to put in the hood scoop too, so we can install that as well . . . .

Karl

PS- Bobby, how much beer do we owe you now!?!?!

Do I get to drink before I work on your trucks?

Actually, I don't drink nearly as much as I used to when I was in college.

I'm gonna have to bring all my tools now. I have 2 12" bags for electrical stuff (1 for autos and the other for work (networking)). I bought a cordless dremel last month as well as a dewalt 14.4 XRP drill. I guess I'll bring my porter cable random orbit polisher so Drew (chunderboy) can play with a real polisher :p.

I love tools :D

Heh. Funny you should mention that. Now with the lift, I was able to crawl under and find 4 zerk fittings on the driveshaft. The 2 inner ones don't hold much.

Yea it must be easier with a lift. I always have to move the T4R a foot or so just to gain access to them (rotate those buggers). Once in a blue moon the fittings are in a decent position. A flexible hose rather than the rigid tube/pipe, that comes standard with a grease gun, is a great accessory. A must have item. Any parts store will have these. I believe the gun side is 1/8" NPT.
