ARB 3423030 on 3rd Gen?

I picked up this bumper the other day pretty cheap without the mount kit. I was told it's the Tacoma model that interchanges with the 4Runner. Upon contacting ARB for a mount kit, they instructed me to locate the welded model number tag and of course, it's for the 05-11 Tacoma. Not the 96-03 Tacoma (3423020) as advertised. I guess it's my fault for not properly researching it and investigating before I jumped on it..

Now, my question is this... Has anyone attempted to put this model bumper on their 3rd gen? I'm thinking about having a local guy fab up mounts for it then modify the bumper to fit on the front of my truck. I know it's a complete custom job but has ANYONE attempted it or have pics of the attempt to fit it up to the truck?

I'm not looking to spend $900 on the 3423020.

It's the age old saying, with enough money, skills and time you can make anything fit. It's not going to look like it fits as the 2nd gen tacoma is a lot wider than the 4runner and it won't bolt up, but probably could be welded onto the frame.

Thanks for the reply, that's what i figured too. I actually want a wider bumper because I'm putting on Bushwacker flares.

The biggest question I have is if the bumper's brackets line up with the 3rd gen 4R's frame rail (I can do the end cap mod no problem).

I'm not sure it's going to be direct bolt on and since the 2nd gen is wider, the "wings" of the bumper will not line up with the fenders. Unless you can modify it yourself or you dump money into it to be modified, I'd say sell it.

Makes sense JWaldz. Here is the root of my confusion -

3423010 = 2nd gen Taco
3423020 = 1st Taco (what we need)
3423030/130 = 2nd gen Taco
