ARB Bull overkill

Is there other bumper options out there for the 4th gen t4r's?

The ARB bumper is an overkill for me, and a custom bumper is too much for me to justify getting one made. I wish we had some options for bumpers. I'm not talking about bull bars and grille guards.

The only two worthwhile bumpers for 4th Gens are ARB and Shrockworks. If you can't justify the price on an ARB bumper, I wouldn't bother looking at the Shrockworks.

That and...

it also takes about 6 months to get a schrokworks bumper despite them telling you every 2 weeks, they will have the parts in the next two weeks for over 4 months. Ridiculous, but they sure are awesome.

It has little to do with the price. For me, I don't offroad as much but I do go on some trails to find a great fishing hole or something. I just need a nice steel bumper with d-ring and somewhere to mount some lights. And of course to also add a toughness look like the ARB and Shrockworks.

Yeah, the only problem is aside from those 2, you are really stuck with grille guards, which are strictly cosmetic, and mostly for mall crawler rigs. Very few members on here offroad with a grille guard. You could always try looking into any local offroad/fab shops and see if they can fabricate something for you?

The ARB Land Cruiser 100 Series Sahara Bar will work for the 4Runner as well. It's the same overall thing as the one listed specifically for the 4Runner, just without all the tubular protection and rather just a beefy chrome guard for the grille area.

I don't think the ARB will be overkill for you at all. The steel bumpers aren't only for rock crawlers. You can mount lights, antenna, etc. that will help with your hunting/fishing ventures. Also, many have hit deer and other things with it and only had to buff out the scratches on the bumper. I say go for the ARB.

Also, there is TJM (which pulled out of NA), but you should be able to find some on craigslist or eBay. They are a bit lighter than ARB, I've heard.

AFAIK, the LC100 Sahara bar needs to be modified to fit the 4th Gen 4runner. AlexJet on this forum and the toyota 120 forum could tell you more, as he is he only person who has one of those fitted to his 4th gen.

Also, TJM never made a bumper for the 4th Gen either.

FWIW, a full steel bumper like an ARB or Shrockworks will make a big impact on handling, ride, and the likelihood of your front suspension sagging, even without a winch. Don't even think of getting one of those bumpers unless you are commited to replacing your stock suspension as well.
