ARB Bumper

Just curious as to what everyone thinks...is $500 a good price for a used ARB bumper? It has some scratches and can use a fresh coat of paint, but overall it is in decent shape (meaning no dents or gashes...). I've been looking for a new bumper for a while and thought that this wasn't a bad price but I would like to get some opinions. Thanks guys!

sounds like a good deal to me, that is less than half of what a new bumper (any manufacturer) plus shipping will cost you.

Do it, do it now, before someone else grabs it up. You could easily touch it up with some black spraypaint, or go over the whole thing with some bedliner.

I know the one you are talking about, I saw it on CL. Looks like a good deal, just make sure it comes with the appropriate mounting hardware. As far as the paint on that one, I bet it would clean up really well with a little time and some cleaner wax.

My first ARB bumper was used and I cleaned it up pretty easily with some cleaner wax. It will take that dull finish off and put it back to the original 'glossy' look.

Yes, it was for a 3rd Gen, which is what I have...
Another question for you guys, I am going to be upgrading the lift on the 4runner to the toytec ultimate lift...should I get the coils that are recommended for an additional 200 lbs?? I use my runner as a DD and am not happy with the suspension and how bumpy it rides with the fabtech that is on there. I want a really smooth ride on and off road. Any input would be greatly appreciated...

It's iffy.. I have the front arb as well as a heavier front skid. Together I'd say they're close to 200lbs. Grant it, I have Sway-a-way coilovers but the coils themselves are the same and mine are the 650lb rate (covers 200lbs of additional weight) It rides just fine to me. I plan to add a winch in the future as well. I guess it's really up to you and if you're going to also be adding a winch and/or heavier offroad skids then I'd definitely get the 650lb rate coils. It's nice to be able to adjust your lift too. Ideally you can pick a soft or stiff ride depending how high or low you crank them. If you add more weight later down the line, crank them up to balance it all out again. Hope this helps.
