Anyone done this yet or is it a waste of time and money. Is doing just the rear enough?
thanks for any advice,

I know a bunch that have done it, in fact once my IFS conversion is done I will have front & rear ARB lockers. :bigok:

Depends on what kind of wheeling you plan on doing, then ask yourself if you need it or not.

Mysticz is right of course. What do you plan on doing with your 4Runner? I have ARB lockers front and rear, the large capacity ARB compressor and I've also re-geared front and rear at the same time. Depending on your intended use, it could be invaluable, or money best spent elsewhere. As far as rear only, again...depends on intended use. Give a little more info and I'm sure you'll get more useful feedback.

For me, money extremely well spent. I've only needed to use them a few times (and mostly rear only) but when you need them they will make you happy you spent the money.

Have no big plans to beat my 4runner offroad. It's matter of if I need it just once will it be worth it. Think you just answered that for me. Thanks for your answers guys. This will in all probability be my last vehicle as I'm retired and don't drive much but when I do drive I like to go to out of the way places mostly by myself.

Sounds like you will be fine without. I've done some pretty crazy trails and conditions using just the stock limited slip. If you find later you need it for the trails you run, or the weather you run them in, then maybe just doing the rear locker will be enough. Happy trails!
