ARB on-board compressor which one?

Hi all,

So i've searched and watched several videos on youtube and I'm trying to decide which on board ARB compressor to get.

I off-road when I can and MTB ride alot so it will get used every other day min and also plan to do one out of state getaway adventure a month with the fam.

Has anyone bought the single cylinder compressor and felt the need to step up to the double version because it just wasn't adequate?

I have the single. Does the job. If I wanted speed, Id go CO2.

I had the double in my jeep. It was awesome and necessary for 35s. COs is faster but a total PITA to constantly keep filled.

I would totally buy the ARB double again but I wont mount it in the Runner. It was kind of a pain to mount in the jeep (cleanly) and then after all that work I let it go with the jeep.

My T4R will never have tires bigger than 285s so I am thinking the single might work as long as I can run C rated tires. E rated need more psi so going from 12 - 45 with a single four times might take a very long time.

Buy the double, keep it mobile and you will have it forever and never regret it. That is what I will probably do.

Single works perfect for me. I haven’t used it since fall but I believe it only took about 6-8 minutes to air up. I have load rating E.

I also have the single. I MTB at least 2 times a week and have had to use it when the fiancé had a hole in her rim. (the stans tape finally failed) I was glad I didn't burn up those little co2's and could use the compressor. Like one has said, co2 was nice and fast, and it did help me seat a tire when I had to replace a valve stem, but I could have done that after I got home. From what you have indicated, I would suggest going with a single, but that's just me.

Side note: Regardless of whatever unit you purchase, take an old advil bottle and put the attachments in it, such as the needle for a ball, the air mattress attachments, and a presta valve adapter.
