so as the title suggests, im torn. getting a tax return next week and im set on a new bumper. after days (literally) of lurking, i had decided on shrockworks against ARB and outdoor logic.
Enter curve ball. Buddy hit me up today and let me know he can get brand new arb for $700 out the door with one day lead time.
I spoke to shrock yesterday and he is at least 12 weeks out and about $400 more then arb.
I am so torn...what i like about shrockworks is:
i really like the way this one looks vs all other aftermarkets ive seen
the premade areas for installing fogs/driving lights
purpose built for 4runner
i can have the color i really want (anthracite or grey)
i like the turns better + they are supplied
what i like about arb is:
cheaper (by $400+) thats a lot for me
quicker (much)
i like the recessed fairlead area
the push pads
airbag compliant (though i dont know about for a 4runner technically speaking)
I was really struggling with the 3 month + lead time but had finally come to terms with it in my head. Then my buddys like "we can have this ARB on your rig by saturday"
Arghh! so anybody have any input, or maybe experience with both? Ive not seen either close up, but runrunner (local to me) offered to show me his recent install. anybody in the Pac NW have a shrockworks they want to show me in person?
This is tough, but i suppose a really good problem to have. what do you guys think? I have to say right now im leaning towards ARB but i could be swayed.
