Revtek has a relocation "bolt" for the rear shock, similar to that offered by NE. They are awaiting more information on the proper bleeding of the xreas shocks before releasing it.

If someone has detailed information regarding the care and feeding of the xreas shock system it would be interesting to read.

Not really as our conversation centered on the xreas shocks. It is my intent to continue to use the NE relocation for the rear shocks. I have a liberal amount of anti-sieze on the shaft and LocTite Blue on the threads and it will function well. If I recall right Revlok has a number of their relocation kits out in the market. Whether this is for testing or not I can't say.

Anyway, what is the worst thing that can happen if one of these relocation bolts breaks? The 4Runner will drive home just fine without a rear shock. The same can't be said for the front shocks as they are inside the coil spring.

Well if the rear shock breaks while your driving straight then I don't see a problem. The big concern I guess would be if it breaks while you're swerving or something where there is alot of body lean/shifting involved; If this is the case then I'm not sure how the rest of the suspension (especially the xreas) will react as the shock that breaks will suddenly have no pressure which will change the characteristic of the rest of the suspension and thus might have some adverse effect on the situation of the 4runner. Dunno as I"m no expect by any standard

Something like but then again what's the likelihood right? Slim but sure would suck if that 1 in a million did happen.

You are right Lance. I should have said if the aftermarket relocation mount broke, I would be able to drive home safely. Thus, no field repair required.

I may download the service manual. But it does not get a favorable review, sounds like it is teh suck. I don't know if it covers the x-reas.
