ARB's Blocks the Sunroof

Say Goodbye to your Sunroof. You will be Staring up at the Rack. Check out the Gobi. It has a Removable Sunroof Insert. Low Profile Steath too.

1299 is a bit out of my price range to be honest.

i was looking at most likely the baja rack but also considered the arb for a little more.

So I dont have a 4R... yet but im guessing the sunroof opens up and out rather then dropping down and sliding under the roof?

It stays internal to the roof, but the ARB rack hangs over the opening so you have an obstructed view. Also, tilting the moonroof up supposedly hits the rack.

Here's a thread you apparently "missed" from just recently; let me know if you have any questions:

http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...ing-details-pictures-mount-areas-silicon.html

You can open/close the sunroof without issues as the glass slides into the roof. The view is obstructed right at 50% by the ARB rack over-hanging (too small of a space for most people to squeeze up thru).

The sunroof can tilt open/close as well; but I always stop mine just short of the "full" open position just in case it hits the rack (don't want broken glass to deal with). But it's close to full open.

New triple Set Gobi Mounts

I know this thread is old, but I just to let you all know that after talking with Gobi about their ARB Awning mounts, they came out with a set of 3 to use on the longer rack and awning.

Happy to say I ordered and installed the triple set with my new ARB 2500 and am very happy with the result. The Gobi mounts for my Stealth rack look and feel solid. They can surely hold the weight of the awning and then some. No movement at all. Installation like most awning mounts is a two person job but I managed to do it myself with the help of heavy wire zip ties. I plan to take it down but not as often as I would have liked.

The Triple set is not cheap, but I think given the quality of the product worth it. And of course Gobi Service was great.
