Is this similar to the Budbuilt 4 piece kit with the 3 plates and crossmember? Is it possible to get a more accurate measurement of the thickness? I assume they come powder coated?

I saw on the ARB website that they are 3mm (0.118") thick. For comparison, the Man-A-Fre and Bud Built skids are 0.1875" thick. The ARB skids are zinc-plated and powder coated. The other two are available either bare steel or powder coated. Bare steel would have to be finished yourself, of course, and I've seen a few guys finish skids/sliders with the "hammer tone" paints which are pretty easy to touch up.

Okay, sorry for the late reply, I had to remember to take the darn picture. lol

the ARB Skids are Steel, 1/8 inch thick or (.118" before powder-coat). They are 4pcs and come with hardware for FJ, T4R, Prado, and ARB Bull Bar. All and all great product for the Price.

lol in the first pic it looks like you about forgot to take pictures and then remembered real quick an jumped out of the other truck left the door open to run back grab some shots and then go back to what you were doing haha. thanks for posting up the other pics when i read 1/8" i said well thats weak but after seeing the rectanglular structure members in that rear plate it def. looks strong. The T-case cover looks like thicker material, is that just the camra playing tricks, basicly just curious if the t-case skid is the same thickness im assuming it is, only just looks thicker in the pic?

FRIGGIN Funny....

I did forget, I was leaving for work and I remembered I needed to take the pic, so I hopped out, ran back, snapped a couple pics (hoping one or two would show up) and then off to work. You nailed that one on the head.

I think the skid on the T-Case is the same, the tabs that bolt on to the t-case are thicker, but the skid material is the same. And FYI, the third skid is very very heavy duty with the box tube built in and the front skids have dimples and breaks that make the super rigid. I have no second guesses about buying these skids, and no second thought about using them. However, when that point comes, I will post pics.

how'd you know?? design engineer is just my cover....

lol just kiding I def. think ill be buying these still leanin on bud built slightly but def. share there performance with us when you get a chance. I've steped over my build buget for the year already lol so I won't be armoring up more until december or january. So this should give you ample time to test them for me haha.

I will run them at summit, and the place I found that will let me go spelunking (most of the caves and mines there are gated and locked down well) is kinda hard to get to. So watch for a report early Aug.

FWIW the Coating is super thick and seems pretty darn good quality.

thats awesome info for this page that really showed the strength thats what i love most about ARB is they always back up what they sale have yall seen the kangaroo carcus test on the front bumpers? I watched the ARB locker video while i was over there to man there videos make me want to spend money lol
