Arched battery to block

I was performing some routine maintenance. Changed the oil, plugs and wires. In the process of changing plug 1 and ended up touching the socket wrench to the battery terminal. The truck drove fine last night and this morning, but now will not start. I verified that I'm getting no spark. Has anyone experienced this? I inspected the distributor cap and distributor but don't see anything out of the ordinary. To be honest, I wouldn't even know what to look for. The leads do look a bit corroded. I'm not sure what a normal cap and distributor looks like. (I've spent most of my wrenching time working on old Honda motorcycles.)

It drove after you shorted to ground?

If not, check the large fuses with the clear tops. They bolt in from the bottom, and don't just pull out.

It did drive. Ran like a champ in fact. The large fuses (marked AM2 I believe) are intact.

Did you check your efi fuse in the kick panel?

For good measure you may want to get a scotch pad and clean tht rotor.

Clean up or replace the cap and rotor and see if it runs.
That'll help determine if the problem is related to the battery arcing or not.

I'll just add, if you don't have spark at the spark plugs, what about at the coil? And if you're not getting spark from the coil, is it getting voltage at all? Trace the problem back.

Fixed. Replaced the distributor cap and rotor as well as the ignition coil for good measure. Fired right up. Thanks guys.
