After a scary drive up to the mountains on the OEM Bridgestone Duelers, I wasted no time in swapping to snow tires for the winter. I found Arctic Claws at Big O for $135 each, which $40 cheaper than the next in the competition. I was a little worried about going cheap, but our first city snowstorm of the year yesterday proved I made the right decision.
The tires grip with ease on snowpacked roads, without even having to go into 4H. It is actually a lot of fun to blast corners and feel them grip. The difference between these and 'summer' tires is night and day!
The true test will be our mountain road trip to Telluride this weekend, but if yesterday was any indication, it should be a worry-free drive.
I highly recommend them for someone looking for the best bang-for-your-buck snow tire.
