@OP I've been lucky to get them in the 5G classifieds, or post up a WTB. Otherwise a brand called DEPO makes replacements that are considered good, and cost less than OEM. I've used both.
There are always headlights on eBay, but use caution, they are sometimes repaired ones from wrecks. AMHIK.

Depo is solid. If you're gonna crack them open then this doesn't apply, but sometimes they aren't sealed that great. Also throw another coat of lens sealant on the lenseseseses

Depo sucks, you want TYC..
Friend was manager at a major parts supplier to body shops. They stopped carrying Depo due to the amount of returns they get for those.

yes oem is going to be higher quality/finish. The tyc projector might be slightly worse. Should be very close, but you can tell some slight difference in quality.

If you're that concerned, buy OEM. I doubt anyone here has enough hands on either DEPO or TYC to really know. Asking a retrofitter is your best bet. They see them all. [MENTION=128345]kustom54lighting[/MENTION] is a sponsor and should know.
One thing to be aware of (if you'll DIY) is sealant. Toyota uses Permaseal, which is notoriously difficult to bake open and clean off.

Stay away from depo the lenses they use crack within months. TYC is what we use for retrofits but they are permaseal just like OEM and a pain to open but quality is on par with OEM.

I used Depo replacement housings on a Passat, they started to cloud after 2 years in the sun.

Don't even try OEM lights for a retro fit. I bought 2 damaged OEM's to practice and they are as close to impossible to open as I've ever seen. I used TYC lights and they were great quality and about 90% easier to open than OEM. The only down side to TYC were the low quality projectors, but that wasn't a problem for me as I swapped them out with the OEM projectors, used clear lenses, spaced them and added 55w HID's. They are aimed perfectly and have a beautiful color and cut-off. HAPPY!

DEPO vs. TYC varies by application, sounds like for 5th gens TYC is the go to. On my 80 series Land Cruiser DEPO's are glass lense, and perfect for retrofits, and pretty decent quality. OEM is always noticeably better quality compared to any aftermarket though.
I had TYC's on a '05 Subaru Legacy and the cutoff was rainbow colored compared to OEM's nice sharp cutoff.
