are chains required 4x4 with a/t Revos???

If so for two or all four?

I can't imagine you would need or want chains. have you driven in snow? if not go have fun and learn your gearing. =)

not in standing snow no. I am probably moving to Toronto so I just wanted to prepare myself here if I need em.

You may want to shout out to your new Canadian brothers and sisters. Toronto from my understanding gets some pretty wet snow. Tires will be the key.

There is an old addage on 4WD. "If you need to add chains you probably shouldn't go".

There isn't that much snow in Toronto. Well, I guess compared to So Cal there is a lot. You definietly not need chains in or around Toronto. They are probably not even allowed. The only time you might want them (if they are legal) is on back country roads. What you will probably want, despite how good the Revo's may be, are dedicated winter tires. Once you try them you won't go back.

I've heard things are little bit different in SoCal than NorCal. Here, they say we need to carry chains at all times regardless of 4WD or not. I don't have chains nor do my snow sports buddies. Most of the time in NorCal Caltrans will shut the highway down before it gets to a R3 situation.

I-80 (around Truckee area) can be treacherous. Yes, NorCal Caltrans will shut the highway. It's just those peeps who are already on the highway when it gets to an R3 situation. All you need is two. Driving with snow chains will slow you down and give you more traction on icy roads. I have not gone more than 40mph with snow chains. I did try once @ 60mph but those chains ripped off wheel well covers. lol
