Are cheap mircofiber cloths any good???

I saw some really cheap at BigLots i believe the brand was "Auto Matics", ive never heard of them. Are they "safe" to use to wax and detail my beloved 4runner? Im so scared that they will scratch the surface? Anyone used them or have an opinion as to whether "cheaper" microfiber are safe to use on the exterior paint? I know they are all microfiber for some reason in my head im thinking the cheaper ones will scratch my paint???!?!? Thx

no prob. I use MF cloths all over the runner, inside and out, for just about everything cleaning wise. MF is great to wipe off wax/detailing products, but i would definitely use an applicator/or machine of choice to put it on.

Cheap enough to toss one when it looks bad. Basically for the price they are good enough, I'm not trying to win a blue ribbon at a car show. I just want a clean ride.

^^^^ same here with me. I've been using them for years. When they are not "good" for detail car anymore, I used them around the house.

This is where I learned my info from. I also now use quality microfiber from these guys.

These are my everyday drying towels for my truck and car now. I get zero lint from them, where as all my other MF towels that lint are either now interior cleaners or in house cleaning towels.

Same here. Not too bad price-wise and it definitely does the job well.

I've bought all kinds over the years. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that unless you are detailing a show car, the cheap ass microfibers work just fine. I have been detailing for about 10 years and can't really tell the difference. FWIW I use Zaino products and have gotten many compliments on previous vehicles that I have owned. I I am currently using up a package I got from BJ's/Costco for like 10 bucks for 36 towels. When they get too dirty to use on the paint, I retire them to doorjamb and grease rag duty.
