Are Ebay Weather Strips Any Good?

Weather strips are rotten which is letting rain into the door. Are these any good?

They're better than the ones you have now!!

Better than OEM, I very much doubt it....but OEM are around $25 To $35 each, so you can buy 4 sets of those eBay ones for the price of OEM.

Ebay weather strips are in. As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. Fronts went in easy enough and fit well. Rears fit OK. "Vent" glass cutouts could be tighter so there is enough gap to let water in. Rear clip is slightly out of position so the fit on the sill is not as good as the front. It is passable for a road warrior like mine.

Overall, value for money is there for a T4R that (proudly) shows its miles. If your T4R is in nice cosmetic condition, you could get by with these but OEM would be better.

One thing you need to understand about those "belts"/weather strips they were never designed to keep all water out, it's impossible since the glass is not a fixed glass, they are designed to keep some water out but mostly to keep debris and insects from getting in, there are drains in the bottom of all the doors and tailgate to allow any water that gets in to drain out, if you ever hear water splashing around inside a door or tailgate hours after it has rained it's because the drains are clogged and need to be cleaned.

I'm about to buy one for my tacoma door from ebay. $44 vs $150 from the dealer. Hopefully it works ok. That door leaks a little during carwashes.
