Are misfires harmful in any way?

I was going to do a compression test the other day but after taking off the plug wires, i realized I didn't have the correct sockets anymore because my brother had lost them all. I had a feeling they would have a loose connection when I put them back on the plugs. The previous owner had used some sort of silicone or glue to keep them tight becuase they are really cheap wires (never buy beck/arnley). So now I get some misfiring coming from most or all of the cylinders upon quick acceleration. It idles and drives fine if I accelerate slowly but I think it is still might be misfiring a bit. I'am ordering new wires but it will take about a week. My question is, am I hurting anything by driving it in this condition for the time being?

Go to any parts store near you it shouldn't cost more then 30 bucks to get a new set and they should be IN STOCK. Don't waste time with dealer. Also do a google search on 3.0 Firing order sounds like you crossed a couple of plug wires its easy to do....

I pushed the boots on the plugs tighter and that seemed to stop it as far as I can tell. Im still going to buy new wires but I have to call around because the places around here are rip-offs. Autozone wants $75 for some regular Bosch wires

when you do get wires check to see the Plastic cages are ok and reusable mine cracked and the wires i ordered on-line did not come with them... thank god for duct tape only kidding!
