Are not all 3 inch lifts created equal?

I'll start by saying that I've had both the DS and now the Cornfed spacer lifts on my last two 4runners. When I'm looking thru the "Post your Lift" thread I cannot help but notice that the OME, Toytec Ultimate, and other coilover options seem to give way more lift then my 3/2 Cornfed. I thought they were all 3 inch lifts? Are not all 3 inches created equal? I like my Cornfed, but Love the look of the OME/Toytec.....

Opinions/thoughts/facts.....?

No they are not.

Some are spacer lifts, some are suspension lifts, some manufacturers overstate while some understate the amount of lift, etc.

It would seem that all spacer lifts are overstated or every spring/strut lift understated.

What are most people getting with their 4th Gen OME and Toytec Ultimate lifts? I found someone getting almost 4 inches with their Toytec, is that normal?

Every vehicle is slightly different.

Our coil overs have an adjusting collar which we set at a certain height that will give roughly 3" of lift. Like I said, every vehicle is different and so we suggest measuring your vehicle height before and after to ensure you get the proper lift. With the adjusting collar it is possible to turn them up higher than 3", however having them set higher than 3" can damage other vehicle components, not to mention give poor ride quality.

If after installing your Toytec Lift, you find that you got 4" or more in the front, we highly suggest turning the adjusting collar down.
