Are OME 895E coils good for 2010 4runner?

Those coils on Toyotec website titled as

"Rear OME 895 & 895E Rear Coils (FJ & 03-09 4Run)"

I emailed to Toyotec, they replied that they have not used the 895E coils on the rear of a 2010 4Runner.

I have seen some discussions about using OME 895/895E on 5th Gen 4runners.

a quick google search tells me that the 895e is about 1 to 1-1/2" shorter than the 895, but with the same spring rate. whether or not to use them would depend on how much load you carry, and how much, if any, lift you want to achieve. I run 889's out back and like them quite a lot.

I want to improve the cornering performance. Based on what I have read in T4R, the ride (when not loaded) will be firmer but it is still okay. I also dont want lift the car too much. 1.5" seems to be a good number

I have them(895E) on a 2012they lifted 2.5"

I quite like the ride.

Thanks for your reply. 2.5" is much higher than the others I searched in this forum. I will pull trigger and bet mine will be less than 2".

I was told that there was something different in 2012 versus 2010-2011 that resulted in more lift on the 2012. I don't know the details or if this is correct, but I should have added it. Me, I blame the Mayan calendar.

If so I think you will be the first. Even the SAW 1.5" nets out around 1.75-2" after settling. Others have also commented about the harsh ride with more than a few removing them. Then again, others love it so that is more subjective.

I don't want to hijack another thread, but are there readily available coils that would give 1-1.5" of lift in the back of a 2012? I need to go nose up or butt down. My wife has been growing her posterior for the sake of the 4Runner's attitude, but to no avail (except she got whistled at the other day).

swapping out the rears probably won't do a whole lot for the perceived cornering performance. if you want to avoid lift and cure the nose dive, you'd be better off going with a stock length coil (edit: with a higher spring rate) and bilstein 5100's.

I have done OW 2.0 (left stock rear coils) a year ago. I also changed stock tires with Cooper Discovery ATP (after 1 stock tire shredded on highway, my son ignored low pressure alarm). Nose diving has almost gone. Cornering was improved vastly. I feel there is still some room for improvement. I have been searching for aftermarket products of sway bar and sway bar bushing but they are not yet available for 5th.

sounds like you should have popped for the Limited with Xreas.

OME 895e

It’s likely that the OME 895E will give you more height and add a washboard ride. I realize that model year will come into play but they are promoted as just a 1.5” lift on older 4Runners 03-09 but on my stock 07 4Runner it was more like 3” height. When measuring the spring it has fewer spring turns and is about an inch shorter than the regular 895. I think I counted 5 wraps on the 895E vs 6 wraps on the 895 and a beefier appearance on the 895E. So just realize that if you are looking for a 1.5” lift with an older 4Runner the 895E is not the spring. The 895 spring is taller but settles more and should give you a 2” lift as per the more accurate descriptions.
