Are rear fogs required in Canada?

My understanding is that the rear fogs located in the 2003 - 2005 rear bumper are required in Canada, and that a mod can be done to use them in the U.S. model. Is this correct?

For the redesigned 2006 model year, the rear fogs are no longer located on the bumper (at least in the U.S.), so what about in Canada? Are the rear fogs incorporated into the LED tail lights somehow? If so, is there a way to mod this for the U.S. models?

These were just reflectors in Canada also. But many on this forum have modded those to be rear lights. IIRC they modded them different ways and for different purposes.

In the Japanese Surf's they are used as rear fogs so if you could get the JDM housing and such you could do it that way but you would still have to wire in the power.

I don't know that they are even required in Japan. It may just be an option.

As far as the 2006 Surf's go, I haven't seen one close enough to know if they even offer rear fogs.

Many European cars have a special extra bright driver's tail light that can be switched on in fog.

That's because its requirement in Germany.
