are tweeters pre-wired?

does anyone know if tweeters are pre-wired for a 2000 base model 4runner? I saw that the fog lights were pre-wired much to my surprise. I ask, cuz I am thinking about upgrading to the 6 speaker system and getting a Scion HU afterwards, but i dont want to have to wire anything myself. I couldnt find an answer on any old threads so I am asking in this thread..

Yes~

They are pre-wired.

I replaced my entire 6-speaker system with Infinity Kappa's and noticed that the tweeters were ineed pre-wired.

was that on a base model? and what year? I called toyota the other day and he made it sound like the 00's werent pre-wired, so I dunno what to think really.

hold on, i just realized that makes no sense. if you replaced your entire 6 speaker system then you already had tweeters, so of course they were wired. I have the base 4 speaker system (no tweets) and Im trying to find out if they are wired even though i dont currently have them.

hey sorry, i just looked for myself. Im kinda lazy and had been putting it off for a while. I saw what you were talking about i think the tweeter wiring is probably to the orange harness right above the speaker. Is that what you were talking about sant??

thats a picture of the door with all the paneling off. the tweeter harness i believe to be the orange piece next to the circled clip (the one i broke) right above the speaker.

PS. i broke one of the interior door clips while looking.. its the one next to the tweeter harness in the pic. Im thinking it could have been broken before hand as that speaker has made some rattling noises against the paneling in the past. any ideas for fixing??

i have a 2000 SR5 and they were prewired to the 6.5" speakers

Try a 2 part plastic epoxy. I broke the same part on my driver's side. That area should have at least 2 clips because it is under more stress than other areas for some reason (probably bad fitment). If the epoxy doesn't work then try to weld the plastic.

If the 00 4Runner does not come with tweets, then I highly doubt they were pre-wired for them.

However, this may not be true, considering my 2001 SR5 did not come with foglights, yet it is pre-wired for them.
