I've never seen anything like it, needing 15 post replies first. If it's to weed out spammers and bots and stuff, I would think around 5 replies would do that, but I don't know much about these things. All I know is I'm sure there have been many potentially valuable would-be contributing members who have said "Oh the hell with it" and just never came back.

Blown motor

I just threw a rod on my 4th gen 2uz. Trying to get my post count up to start some threads on engine rebuild. Used motors are now getting up there in miles, making them increasingly less attractive for the price. Remanufactured motors have horrible records. Don't even ask the price of a new Toyota motor--you can only get a short block, and that starts at about $7k. So I'm going the rebuild route. Pulling the motor and taking it to a pro shop. Now the decisions become an endless maze. Need a sounding board.
