Are you happy with engine braking?.. 3VZ-E

Guys,

I'm just wondering if you are happy with your engine braking (I guess I'm talking manual transmission). I'm not satisfied with it at all in high range. Letting go off the throttle helps only so much, but then it starts to choke and jerk, it wants to go faster...

Is it the specifics of the V6 3l? It seems to like high revs in general.

What do you think?

mate if engine braking is what you want a petrol engine is not the way to go!! its not that bad on mine though.

in L4 i can crawl up/down steep rocky hills with ease though.

yeah he's right a diesel engine has way higher compression than a gas engine, so it would work better as a "jake brake" although its technically not.
