Are you more lenient to other 4Runner drivers?

I was driving today and some fawkbag cut me off. One hand on the KC lights, and the other on the horn, I stopped. He had a 4Runner. An Imperial Jade, 02 Sport to be specific. And it was CLEAN! Boy, was it clean...
And that was enough to stop me from road raging...

Anyone else?

I just got cut off by a late model 4th gen the other day. One of the facilities guys. I wanted to stamp Shrockworks into his quarter panel! I mean c'mon brutha.. did you not see me? Seriously!

As for on the road common courtesy... as in letting one out from a side street or merging, yes I'd cut some slack to a 4Runner.

Too bad 4runner owners don't give each other props when passing.

I would say yes but I get angry quick at other drivers. I'll let other 4runner into traffic sometimes and stuff like that, but if the driver is being slow or anything, I don't care what they're driving.

Some SR5 V6 revv'd on me @ a stoplight. Unfortunately it was close by a speedtrap so when green lights hit, i let the SR5 go. Three blocks later, i see him get pulled over so i slowed down and give the driver a good wave. :lol:

That's exactly how I feel, spot on.

That's exactly how I feel, spot on.

The other thing is that they aren't Lincoln Navigators with usually some blond housewife at the wheel.

yes and no. usually to 3rd gens and older.. but a 4th and 5th gen is just another car on the street to me. somehow everytime i see a 4th gen..its a female on the phone..seriously.

I noticed a lot of 4ths recently--all of them with women on the phone or with two or three kids.

A lot of 5ths are just people with an expensive vehicle.

Thirds, especially ones that looked well cared for, are too beautiful not to watch go by.

Yes to 1st, most likely with 2nds, most likely with 3rds and no to 4th and 5th. I really don't see any 5ths on the road.

Most of the 1st to 2nd Gens I see are either beaters or neglected so less leniency towards them.. 3rd, 4th and 5th Gens, yes...but if the driver's a showoff....heck no!

That is definitely a yes and a no. It all depends on a few things.

1) Is a just another 4runner or is it modded up or at least clean looking like most everone's on the site. More importantly does it look like there care that they are in a truly amazing SUV or are they just driving one like its just another car to drive.

2) Does the driver look like someone who truly shares the enjoyment of driving his/her 4runner or just another soccer mom talking on her phone and/or doing other things besides driving?

It really doesn't matter to me what gen it is. I will usually cut them so slack as long as the fit into those two categories correctly.

I give the wave when passing a runner,even though nobody waves back .:hello::hello: funny because when I borrow my wifes wrangler all the waving pisses me off. I figure my runner is so much cooler I should do it too.

I do the same thing ! Less door dings and I like to see how much higher I sit compared stock 4 gens and all gen runners.

Yes and no. Depends on what im driving. Im my 4runner yes, but im usually with the trucks in the slow lane cruisng, so no need to be lenient. But in my honda im in the fast lane and dont care about what other people are driving, Im usually in a rush in the Honda because i commute in it. So Ill cut a 4runner off when they are slow poking in the fast lane.

Generally speaking, I usually let them merge into traffic & whatnot. But I think that EVERY 1st-4th gen owner on the planet should be mandated to be a T4R.org member. I mean honestly, I love this website. Like you guys just don't understand. I don't think there are any other people in my area that have T4R stickers on their rig other than [MENTION=68576]Brian757[/MENTION]

haha agreed! When I run into another guy with a runner (gen1-gen3) I always ask if they are on any forumn. LOL i get the strangest looks. But I agree, the community as it stands is already outstanding, and if every owner was too, it would be that much better
