ARGH! My truck got dinged!!!

Someone obviously dropped something on it because there is a nice dimple in about the center of my front fender near the top, just above the shadow line. :(

Bastages. I just noticed as I was finishing up my hardwire radar detector install.

I'd say maybe a rock got kicked up but I think I would of noticed a rock big enough to make a dimple flying thru the air.

Doesn't look like the paint has been broken, just some white scuff marks. Has anyone used the paintless dent removal? Based on the location looks as if they'll have to come up under the fender.

What a crappy way to start the day. :(

Well I thing I figured out how it happened.

It definitely wasn't there last night when I took my dogs for a walk.

But last night there were two kids playing in the street with tennis racquets. On a hunch I went back outside and sure enough there was a rock on the ground with some red plasticy stuff scrubbed off on it, I'm guessing from the racquet strings.

Of course I have no proof so it's not like I can go to the parents and get them to pay for the damage. Crap like this really burns me up. Little brats have no respect for other people property.

Unfortunately, a lot of adults don't either. That's why we get door dings. :(

PDR is a great way to save cash and if you take it to the right people, it'll be done within a few hours or less. I've used a company called Dentpro, who have shops nationwide I beleave. In the past I got rid of a few dozen dings and dents on my Acura from them. It probably wont look like it was before the dent, but it will definately be unnoticed by anyone else but you. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. Dentpro doesn't have any places near me (or in this part of the country for that matter). I did look up Dent Wizard and they have a few locations located at dealerships. One of them happens to be at an Infinity dealership across from where I work so hopefully on Monday I can get over there to at least get an estimate.

Anything will be better than what it is now. It's in such a noticeable spot and it's absolutely driving me crazy.
 
I used a paintless dent removal service (can't remember which) a few years ago for a door ding on my Tacoma. It was about $100, took about a half hour, and looked great when it was finished. The only leftover sign was the tiny scuff in the paint from the door ding. You'd never know it was there unless you were looking for it. The sheet metal was straight as an arrow.

I agree. I will be writing a letter to my condo assn about the believed incident. They have sent letters out before asking that children not play in the streets and that they should be directed to the playground or one of the grassy areas.

I will also be bitching about the condition of the road, because if it was in good repair there would not be rocks all over the place for the children to pick up. It's dangerous to even walk on the uneven pavement and I've more than once tripped on it while walking my dogs.

$139 and the guy comes on Friday morning.

The guy at the dealer thinks it should be no problem but said the dent guy will let me know right away when he comes. Crossing my fingers.
 
Well about a 1/2 hr and $150 later and the fender is near perfect!

There is one little blemish on the clear coat that the rock damaged and he wasn't able to buff out do to it's depth. And unless you know its there you'd never see it. :)

I've also gotta say the people at the Infinity dealer were super nice to me and very personable.
