Armor All Extreme Shield Wax vs Meguiar's Nxt Generation Tech Wax 2.0

Well haven't tried Meguiar's Nxt Generation Tech Wax 2.0 but do use Armor All Extreme Shield Wax. It doesn't give you that slick feeling but does make the car shine and last a very long time while just wipe on and then off no waiting to dry. Which do you like better??

Not having tried either, I will recommend Zaino, it's well worth the money for the basic kit. A little goes a long way, and I can do both of my vehicles (4Runner and Mazda 3) about 20 times with the kit. The best part is you only need to do it about once every 6 months, with just regular washing and application of the spray gloss enhancer in between application.

When I wax my car, I use NXT as my first coat, and then I apply a coat of Meguiars carnauba wax which brings out a deep shine.

Yes, the NXT does leave a slick feeling on the car if you follow the proper detailing steps:

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Polish (A Porter Cable definitely makes life much easier)
4. Glaze (optional)
5. Wax

It'll take about 5-7 hours, but you'll be amazed at how great your car can really look.

If your paint has never been clayed before and you wash & wax, you'll still feel bumps on the paint after waxing.

• Meguiars Ultimate Compound
• Meguiars Show Car Glaze
• Meguiars NXT 2.0 Wax

Looks like you paid a classic car detailer $1,000 to rejuvinate your paint.

If only NXT 2.0 had more durability, it would be a top tier wax/sealant. Nonetheless, if one can put two coats down, durability does increase.

+1 on using the Ultimate Compound. Just make sure to take it right off after applying.

That's my only gripe about the NXT. It only lasts a week during our rainy season.

If you're looking for that slick feeling, you should follow treklights detailing suggestion. A clay bar will remove the grainy feel to a car that hasn't been cleaned in a while.

Besides the weekly wash, I do the following once a quarter:

1. wash
2. clay bar
3. wash
4. wax (2 coats at a minimum)

I have been using Menzerna polishes on my porter cable, followed by Poor Boys wax and Menzerna sealant. You really need to put a good paint sealant on the paint after it is polished, that is what really lasts.

I clayed my car about a month (back in June) after we got it then put a down some Meguire's polish followed with 2 coats of NXT to finish it up. I love the slick feeling of a clayed car.

6 months later it's holding up well but the car is garaged most of the time and has seen very little winter driving. In march it;ll get clayed again and fully detailed.

Haha, that is why I usually just use both. They don't take very long to apply, 1 cost of sealant and 2 coats of wax.
