Artic Freeze Question

SO my AC was blowing warm air, I had my brother help me fix it by hooking up a can of Artic Freeze to it and it did the job, the AC is cold now. But, when I went to hook up the PSI gauge that came with the bottle to see if I perhaps needed any more of the product the gauge read 100. So basically my brother poured the whole can in. On the direction it said in 85 degree weather to have the psi between 45-55. I think he overfilled it.

1) Will this cause any damage?

2) How do I get some of the artic freeze out?

3) What happens if the AC is overfilled?

Overfilling it will make it perform inefficiently. Will it damage it? If it is only overfilled a little. I would leave it alone unless it is not a cold as it should be.


IMO, I like using plain Jane 134a with no additives. The original system was designed for plain 134a and works great.

They have designed the system to be have a certain temperature obtained. If the artic freeze does make it colder then before, you will likely have the evaporator freeze up on you.

The only additive worth putting in the system only if it needs it would be a UV Dye. Then you can use a UV flashlight to check for any leaks.
