Attached is a "pic" from a Japanese magazine.
It shows the 2010 4Runner which is scheduled for start of production in August 2009.

Supposedly same engine options.
Optional Hydraulically assisted suspension similar to Landcruiser.
10mm Taller
30mm Wider

Enjoy.

uh oh! looks like another thread that would go nowhere. Close this damn thread before anybody else waste their time.:awais:

I call BS!

No pic posted plus why would any automaker introduce any new vechicle after 7 years with the exact same motor?

The threads title did get my attention though, fwiw:)

hold your horses.....

I did not check my post that the attachment was included. (I don't live on this message board......I saw the pic and thought you guys might like to see it.)
It was a PDF(scanned it in at work off the copier). It came from a Japanese magazine.
It is on my office PC, so I'll get it tomorrow.

Never done an attachment on here........so I'll try again tomorrow.....or if someone wants me to email it to them and they can post it, i'll be more than happy to!

New Lexus(Prado) has same SOP timing.
Also.....they will discontinue the "Surf" version in Japan.
The 4Runner will only be an export vehicle starting 2010 model year.

Hopefully this works.....I made files size smaller and changed to JPG.

If not, someone with experience posting pics email me and I'll send it to you and you can post.....

Looks like it has a bit of Highlander in it along with the grill from the Tundras;still too vague to get excited about it.

Thanks slyfox, I took the liberty of flipping your picture 90 degrees. The little one in the bottom right looks interesting too. Can anyone read Japanese? :D

It is a Prado

Nice work finding this... I used google translator to figure out this is an ad for the Prado.
Note the handle on the rear cargo door is on the left hand side.

That's what I was going to say. Thank god that's not what the 4Runner will turn into. Great for the Prado, not the best look for a 4Runner.

Since it translate to a Prado, that settles it. Otherwise, to me it looks too much to be a uni-body SUV than a body on frame.

Why does it have that little dinky window by the side mirrors like the Prius and first gen RX? Tint installers will probably count that as two extra windows and more $$$.

It might very well be a presumed rendering for the new 2010 Australian/New Zealand "Land Cruiser Prado" which is what we know as the Lexus GX470 with different front end(ie fenders, hood grill bumpers etc.)
The rendering is different from the photo in the lower right. The rendering has the typical slanted rear pillar of the 4Runner and 3 bar 4Runner grill. The photo has the vertical Lexus/Prado rear pillar. To me the rendering looks to be a natural conservative progression of the current 4Runner.
I speculate that the Lexus GX470 will be dropped and thus the Prado will be using the new 4Runner,with upgraded interior. Believe the Prado will get the adjustable Land Cruiser suspension at least for the South Pacific as it is priced above the Hilux Surf. Since rear height adjustment is currently available on the 4Runner, hopefully it will be available in the USA front & rear.

Hold your horses.....AGAIN!!!!

Man......you guys are untrusting detail freaks:)

The magazine I xeroxed had a 2 page spread for the Prado AND the 4Runner. The "ads" were horizontal.......meaning the info UNDER the 4Runner IS the Prado Info......the 4Runner info was/is to the left on the magazine page opposite the pic.....and there was a pic of the current version 4Runner and below on the left hand page was an artist rendition of the new Prado as well.

I never dreamed you guys would try to translate the dang thing!

I'll try to find the magazine and xerox the opposite page.

Hang tight while I track it down if it's still here.

I agree. We all knew that the look of the next 4Runner would be "softer".
The 4Runner has always had it's own, unique look that was different from other Toyota vehicles. Toyota seems to have a plan to give a similar look across their models. This is sad, because the "Toyota look" is very generic (Rav4, Highlander, etc.).

When they all have similar styling, it becomes easier to blend two models together, or just let one fade away. And it sounds like Toyota wants to limit the number of different truck models.
