Found a 94 Landcruiser at a local PAP smear (Memphis, tn), stopped by to see what I could stockpile. Didn't find much, other than the unit had all 4 coils in place. Thought I might go back and get them, but as I was walking down the aisle, I passed a few Honda Passport 94-97 models. The spare tire carrrier assembly on the back looks like it might be a bolt on, or usable with small variances. It is a swing-out, similiar to a HiLux. I may go back and get the assembly, and see if I can adapt it to a 97 4runner. If anyone else has done something similiar, would like to hear from you on how you made it happen. Later.

Doubt it would be worth it. Even with the Hilux version which is made for the 4runner requires strengthening the rear pillar to hold the weight of the tire and swing arm. It's not a super easy modification.

Yeah, I get that part of it, but wasn't really concerned about the 'easy' factor, no offense, just a side project that doesn't have a time limit, one of those 'because I could' situations. Looking for ideas in the back bracing area, or weight balancing area, etc. Thanks.
