I can't even figure out why anyone would put a passenger tire on a 4runner
Nope! For beach driving, and highway driving in heavy downpours, and for ice and snow. The only thing better for beach driving would be a bald balloon tire of some sort.
I'm looking at the AT3's and Goodyear TripleTreds to replace the stock Bridgestones on mine. I had the 19" Goodyears on my Highlander and they were great tires, even after 37k miles when I sent it down the road.

FWIW I just came from a Tahoe with 265/75/16 BFG KO 1 "E" rated and they were stiff as hell and howled like a hyena on the freeway. I heard the KO 2 were a huge improvement over KO 1 so I took a chance and had 265/70/17 BFG KO2 "C" load rating mounted on my 2016 SR5 4x4 today. The tires are nearly as silent as stock and without a doubt they absorb city street bumps better than the factory Bridgestone Dueler's. The new KO2's are an awesome tire IMO. I was worried they would howl on the freeway but they're nearly silent.
How do yours track at highway speed? Mine hunt around a lot and don't like to track straight at all. That's with a perfect alignment too. It may be getting worse as they get worn in. They are extremely quiet and smooth otherwise.
Does anyone have experience with the KO2s vs the ATP or AT3 in rain/snow/ice?
From the research I've done, sounds like the ATP/AT3 will perform better, but I'd like to confirm.

I will be needing new tires soon. Looking at the Yokohama Geolandar G015 or Goodyear Wrangler TrailRunner. Input on these about street manners would be helpful.
