I have the BFG KO2 C class on every vehicle I've owned in the last 5+ years.
As for sand, I drive on OBX sand a lot and it's not the tire as much as it is how you drive and tire pressure. I used to pull jeeps out of the sand with my 74 LTD Squire station wagon. Loose sand needs low pressure and, in my opinion, an E rated 10 ply tire doesn't do well in loose sand. The sidewalls are too stiff and doesn't allow the tire to flare out enough. In the Squire I would drop to almost flat and drive without any problems in a rear wheel drive.
But I imagine the GA/TN sand is way different and then there's the red clay and I don't think the KO2 would work well on that wet reed clay.

As of right now I think I'm going with the Continental TerrainContact. They have a good mileage warranty and have a slightly aggressive tread, plus they are also cheaper than the others. I plan on keeping my stock wheels/tires, so what do I need in terms of TPMS, valve, stem, etc... for the TRD Pro wheels? The tire shop said it would be $50 a wheel for the TPMS, so I was hoping someone on here could point me in the direction of a cheaper alternative.
Swap from your current rims to new rims.

98% of 4Runner owners need a good set of road tires.

Those look great! I wasn't waiting for someone to throw them on a T4R. Any other pics from the side of the car or rear quarter shot? Hard to see them in the one picture of your whole side. Thanks!
Thanks, I'm really happy with them. Only problem is the steering wheel shakes from about 50-65 mph so I believe the tires weren't balanced properly; need to get that fixed.
I'll try to get some more pictures posted later tomorrow. There is no noticeable difference in road noise from the stock tires and the new tires also have a less "spongy" feeling to them.

We had these on my wife's 2004 4Runner when we moved to Colorado. They were off of it midway thru our first winter. I concur they are good in rain but not in any significant snow. Her current 4Runner has Duratracs on it and mine will be getting KO2's this weekend.
Wanted to give an update on these tires. So far I have 15,000 miles on them and don't notice any tread wear. After the balance issues were sorted out, these tires road smooth and I couldn't tell if they were any louder than the stock tires.
They perform superbly in the rain; great traction in corners and sharp handling, very good breaking and no spinning out when starting from a stop. Also, no noticeable hydroplaning in downpours. I have ridden on a logging road in MS (red clay/dirt) when wet and was able to get by just fine in H4. On gravel roads, the tires do tend to hold some gravel. They've seen some light snow and I only needed to put it in H4 on steep hills. Other SUV's and trucks were losing traction and having to turn around, but these seemed to keep the 4Runner in control the whole time. It's my first SUV and first set of AT tires, so I don't have anything to compare to other than driving my friends SUV's with AT tires. With all that said, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again, and will probably do so when I need another set. I plan on going on some OHV trails in North GA and will report back after I put another 15,000 miles on them. Let me know if there are any questions about these and I'll do my best to answer. Welcome to the hyper sensitivity of the steering racks on our rigs. Very sensitive to balance. It's 60 - 65 MPH on mine.
