Attaching things to rear seat-backs and rear floor

I'd like to add some attachments points to the interior "floor." With the rear seats folded down, that would be both into the rear seat backs, and the rear area over the spare tire. Has anyone done this? Will the material of either support being screwed into? Or is there something under the carpet to remove and replace with something more sturdy? Or is this just a terrible idea to begin with?

To fasten down my Drawer system I removed the plastic cargo shelf following the Toyota Service Manual (Pic Attached)

With that removed I bought slightly longer bolts from the local Ace/TrueValue hardware store (Lowes and BORG did not stock this metric thread in my area).

If you remove the 2 plastic trays with the D-Rings behind the Rear wheel wells there are 2 more factory mounts available to tie into.
