Attic Cargo Net

Hi, I've got a camping trip coming up in a week and a half and im trying to add an attic cargo net by adding OEM or after market (whatever is more convenient) d rings.

I do not want to do any additional drilling into the cargo and would prefer to make use of the 2nd row passenger ceiling handles and add tie down D-rings to the cargo hooks. I am having trouble finding aftermarket tie downs that fit the M6-1.0 bolts that are used for the plastic hooks in the cargo area.

If anyone has an attic net, would love to hear how you went about it.

Buy some D Rings like these:

Order some black metric bolts of the appropriate size online or get the silver ones at any big box hardware store.

I could never figure out how to attach the factory net that came with my 2010 Trail.

I bought the Raingler last year and it is very handy for storing soft goods such as pillows and jackets. To mount it you attach to the rear coat hook bolts and then drill four holes for the corner straps in the body behind the plastic trim. It ends up very clean and also quite sturdy. Just be careful, use a step drill and mark the depth so you don’t drill too deep.

I used most of what's listed in this article.

Initially used the eye bolts in the link below, which worked well. Then eventually instead splurged for the FJ Cruiser rear cargo hooks.

I picked up a Raingler net last year sometime and its great. I did buy a second elastic net to go over the Raingler - stuff tends to bounce out when you're offroad.
