Redline Tuning is based in Dexter Michigan.
They just developed a QuickLift hood strut system that replaces the hood prop rod for 3rd Generation 4Runners.

They are now looking to develop kits specific to Generation I (1984-89 model years) and Generation 2 (1990-95). Test fittings will take place at their Dexter Michigan shop.
Please contact me if you are nearby and interested in a free QuickLift installed on your GEN 1 or GEN 2 4Runner. In return they will be using pictures of your vehicle for their website and installation instructions.
I paid to have the QuickLift installed on my 1999 Generation 3 4Runner and was able to get a free one for a nearby owner, whose rig is pictured in the link above. It is a high quality product and does work well. The factory prop rod stays in place for a backup to the struts, but you will not be needing it any longer.
I have no financial interest in the company-and their products are also sold at Burtman Industries website and the Performance Products catalog also carries it for Tacomas only.
