Audio help

I recently put in a new PIONEER AppRadio SPHDA210 in my 2004 4runner that had the JBL with RDS so I had to buy a PAC TATO JBL Digital Amplifier Turn-On Interface. Since installing these my sound keeps goin in and out. One minute it sounds fine, then for about a second or so the sound dims down then back up to normal. Anyone experience this before?

Follow the directions on the PAC TATO. Get your old stereo out and reconnect it. Set the volume to 3/4 like the instructions stated and your problems will be solved. I am not saying this as a know it all, but as a dope that made the mistake and had the exact same result. For whatever reason it makes a huge difference.

75%, I can't remember what the numbers are on the stereo, but I know if you don't find out what the top number is and multiply it by .75 then set the stereo to that value before you disconnect it, it no works. Why? I have no idea. I assume volume must be controlled in the amp. It sounded strange and I gave it no respect. Dumb me figured louder must be better and had it maxed when I unplugged it.

I had the metra version of that adapter and I can tell you it did exactly the same thing even when setting the amp to 75% according to the instructions.

It's not dimming, its actually the front (or rear) speakers cutting out so you only hear the remaining set.

It would happen on certain songs always in the same place.

Make sure your HU has 4v preouts and set the amp. If it still does it apparently trying new adapters until it goes away is the only solution save bypassing it entirely and going aftermarket.

I chose the latter, I hated that thing.

You'll have to have the line converter too.

It's what fixed mine. Mine is a pioneer as well.
Oh and I did the volume thing 3-4 times before that...Nope
