Audio Questions - Amp install

Good morning,

I tried to install an Alpine power pack to the factory headunit this week and was getting a lot of Feedback? (static when the volume at 0)

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Install:
2014 4runner SR5 with factory navigation non-JBL - 5th Gen

Alpine KTP amp
Used the Scosche TA02B & TA02RB wiring connectors so that i didn't have to splice the factory wires. I also ran the power wire to an Add a Fuse (blank slot in the fuse panel on the driver footwell) .

The ground is using the radio ground.

The sound when the volume was above 0, sounded great but at 0 level, the static is very annoying.

To ensure the cleanest possible audio, it is best to run dedicated power and ground from the battery to the amp. Of equal importance, do not run any high current power wiring anywhere near the speaker wiring. I ran my amp wiring along the drivers sill and speaker wire harnesses along passenger sill. My amp and processor are under the driver(amp) and passenger seats(processor).

Also, are the input levels on the amp adjustable? If you set those while the head unit volume is too liw you will have noise at zero volume. Its best to set them with the head unit volume at its max before it distorts. I used info from tacotunes website and set head unit volume to “60” while i adjusted to input levels on the processor(audisson bit 10). It came with a set up cd with a pink noise track. Setting amp input levels is a similar procedure but also involved a voltmeter on the speaker out terminals per jl audio instructions.
