Audio Questions for 2005 T4R

Hey guys/gals need some advice: I purchased a DNX 5120 at a great price and am upgrading my speakers, I do not have a JBL syss just the SR5 stock. I am trying to add some bass but do not want the huge box in the cargo area, any one ever use Bazooka? I hear they can be taken in and out of the vehicle with little effort. Any other suggestions to upgrade my system would be appreciated. hanks in advance.

Post some pictures of your head unit after you get it installed. I'm thinking about purchasing that same unit and would love to see how it looks installed.

I used some Bazakoo tubes way back when...late 80s. They do great bass when setup properly. They can be easy to put in and take out, but it will depend on the type (powered or non-powered). If you use the ones with the amp built-in, then there will be a lot more wiring, and 2 of those wires will be positive/negative - 2 wires you'll NEVER want touching each other once the tube is removed. Even if you remote mount an amp, you still will not want the +/- speaker wires touching each other if you use your radio with the tubes out.

They used to come with mounting straps...you mount the straps to a hard point, and then cinch the tubes in with them. Fairly easy to take out - you just have to watch your wires once its out to make sure you don't dead-short any 12v +/- or cross +/- speaker leads when your radio is on (and thereby, your amp is on too).

Thanks guys for the responses, I decided to go with a Bazooka 8 inch, it was priced right on Amazon, they want $600 plus for the pre built box that fits the T4R, I was able to get this for $150 they range from $179-$250.
Word of advice: If you purchase the Nav head unit like mine they nickle and dime you to death! I dropped $300 for the Bluetooth, Steering wheel remote (you can retain your controls) IPOD adapter, and Sirrius tuner. If you shop around like I did you can find a few deals. SO far the DNX 5120 $550. accessories $300, Bazooka $150 so at least I am on budget I am not replacing the stock speakers right now, waiting for funds...lol I have some questions about install but will start a new thread.
