Hi Everyone
I’ve just very recently purchased a 92model 4Runner it’s in reasonable good condition, With a Toyota V8 and Auto box, No Cancer/Rust , 1 1/2 inch lift, 31inch tyres, 15inch wheels, tinted windows it’s pretty straight and was brought off the original owner of 25years.
Now in saying all this it still needs a few things tidied up so I’m completely happy with it’s presention and usability, little things like marks on seats, drivers window switch replaced or taken apart and cleaned, gear shifter replaced or looked at and the shifter rubber boot replaced or affixed down so hot air doesn’t come into the cab and shifter surround replaced as some plastic on the shifter mechanism has broken off or replaced it all with a B&M shifter if it’s possible?.
And then some sound deadening and perhaps a reverse camera and a multimedia stereo, and some roof racks and a 3/4 Length basket.
I’d also love the spare wheel carrier but not sure how easy one of these can be attached to it since it didn’t come out with it on.
Would also love some old school alloy or polished alloy wheels to finish her off.
I’ve got the same engine in my Twin cab Hilux but with a 5 speed behind it and was amazed at the power difference from the auto to the manual box! I’ve got and have had other auto boxes before but unfortunately this auto box is just gutless it feels like it needs at least one other gear or more as there seems like a HUGE gap between first and second and not sure if it’s normal but it won’t drop back to first gear a low speed so once it’s gone into second it won’t drop back down so if your doing 10-20kmph/6-12mph it’ll just sluggishly pickup speed until the rpm picks up and unfortunately everything eg kick down and torque converter are ran by the electronics, yes they could be adjusted but and expensive auto electric job to remapping things as far as I’ve found out anyway.
Cheers Dirtdiggin
