Aussie Locker Question

I am looking into buying a rear Aussie Locker, or other similar "automatic" locker, for my truck. I want a locker like this because I can't afford to spend over $1000 on a nice air locker. My question is, how much does this eat up tires on pavement? My truck is my only car, so it gets driven on pavement a lot. Also, are there any other issues that come with having a locker installed when daily driving?
