Yes it is indeed the same engine. That would be very spiffy to have, imagine all that torque in V-6.

That's 10K Australian. Breaks down to 7500 USD. Still kind of pricey...

yes it would void the warranty on the motor and everything else a dealership feels is affected by the blower. only a trd part installed by Toyota would allow you to stay under warranty.

As cool as this sounds for all of you V6 guys, I don't think there is any way in hell you are going to get 130 HP out of a supercharger kit. If you look at the graph they provided 185 KW (at the wheels, as the graph says) translates to about 250 WHP which is about 315 crank HP for a net gain of 70 HP. This sounds alot more in the ballpark for a centrifugal supercharger. I'm not sure where they got the numbers below the graph from, but the graph certainly makes more sense. I just don't want anyone to get *too* excited:biggrin2:

check out urd they have a supercharger kit for the fj and the taco but no 4runner and jba has headers for the fj and the taco. so unfair.:

I don't see the problem... why don't you put that supercharger on? Don't we have an identical motor and engine bay area? I'd rather just wait for the TRD supercharger so if I blow a head gasket it's under warranty.

Yeah, that really blows! I called JBA not too long ago and asked about getting headers for the 4R, but the guy said that they don't make them for the 4R and they don't ever plan on doing it. I told the guy about our forum and that there are many members that would be interested in the headers and that someone would even provide them with their vehicle for R&D. His response was: "I guarantee you that my manager has no interest in making one for the 4runner" period. That really sucks! I would've offered them my 4R to be the guinea pig, but it doesn't look like it's ever gonna happen. I really hope one of these guys (TRD, JBA, URD, etc) or any other company out there will develop more performance enhancing products for the 1GR-FE motor.
