Auto-arm alarm system

Hi Everybody,

I'm a new owner of an 04 SR5 (white). Bought it with 19,800 miles!! I will post pictures up later this week, but I've been super busy.

Anyhow, one feature that is nice (but not for me) is the auto-arm system. Basically if you do not lock the doors within about a minute or so, it arms the car with the alarm so if you open the door, the alarm sounds. I don't like this because I'm in and out of the car alot, and I keep setting it off. Is there any way to shut this off?

Also, what is the little black button on the kickpanel of the drivers side door (right beneath the fusebox on the left panel). I at first thought this was the button to silence the alarm, but its not. What is it?

Thanks!
Joe

It sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm system. They should of given you an owners manual for it with the vehicle. If you get the manual you will be able to set the alarm so that you can set it with the remote. As for the little black button on the kick plate, that goes with the alarm you use that to put the alarm in valet mode and to change the settings on the alarm. Congrats with your purchase. low miles for an 04. I have an 03 Limited with 26,000 miles on it.
